University Central Library

The central library at UOM named as Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah Central Library was established in 2003-2004 in the old shades of the DFIC building. Since then, it has passed through various developmental stages and efforts are made to enhance the library as one of the leading libraries of the province. The library has been shifted to the newly constructed (double story) building in 2011 with the help of HEC and equipped with RFID system. The new building owns different sections like reference section, subject based sections, discussion room (utilized by both students and faculty members) and lecture room. It comprises of a wide range of books, journals and articles, provided with more than 35,000 related to all the teaching disciplines and general books. Further, computers with Internet facility (equipped with OPAC  Online Public Access Catalogue) have been placed to make its use easier and more fruitful. Besides, newspapers (12 newspaper on daily basis), popular magazines and a host of reference books attract the attention of students. The library also facilitates its users in terms of issue/return service, reservation of documents, SDI (Selective Dissemination of Information) service and reference service.
