The Department of Criminology at the University of Malakand is a pioneering academic unit committed to advancing knowledge in crime, justice, and social order. Established with a forward-looking vision, the department currently offers a comprehensive BS (4-Year) program in Criminology, equipping students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills essential for addressing contemporary criminal justice challenges.
Our faculty comprises highly qualified and specialized scholars with expertise spanning criminal law, forensic science, cybercrime, and restorative justice. Their dedication to teaching, research, and mentorship fosters a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking and ethical leadership.
The department has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with key governmental institutions, including the Cyber Crimes Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Forensic Science Laboratories, and other law enforcement bodies. These partnerships enable us to offer regular seminars, workshops, and field visits, providing students with hands-on exposure to real-world criminological practices. Through these collaborations, students also gain access to valuable internship opportunities that enhance their professional readiness.
With M.Phil and PhD programs already approved by all relevant academic bodies and awaiting final endorsement from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the department is poised to expand its academic offerings and research footprint in the near future.
