Department of pashto and oriental languages is a newly established faculty.it was ingaugurated in 2011.It offers two year master program.For the promotion and elevation of pashto language and literature,the Board of studies has designed a wide-ranging syllabus which will bring forth fruitful results.The Department of Pashto train and guide its students in such a manner that they obtain profound knowledge of their literature, history and cultur.Likewise, it takes great pains to polish and refine the creative endowments of the students.It channels the intellectual energies of the students in a positive direction in order to enable them to play their constructive role in society.
Gratify the sense of Pashto language, literature and Pashtun culture to young generation.
To polish the manners of the students for bright future and profession in the light of Islam and Pashtunwali.
The establishment of the Department of Pashto and Oriental languages was approved by the syndicate in its 14th meeting held on 30th September 2010, and instituted in 2011. It has the distinction of being the second department of Pashto, after the Department of Pashto, University of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Since its inception, the department offers admissions at Masters level (2 year program). Now the Department plans to start M.Phil/ Ph.D programs with the sole purpose of producing highly skilled and trained scholars in the field of Pashto language and literature. The department has got young but highly qualified and efficient faculty, equipped with the latest pedagogical skills. It provides an ideal and conducive environment for academic pursuits for the promotion and elevation of Pashto language and literature.
