MPhil/PhD Program in Pharmacy

Brief Description
Research is the basic thing for the development of a country. The research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences helps in development of the country and serve the humanity in more than one field i.e. health, industry, social and economic aspects. For this purpose the Department of Pharmacy University of Malakand has launched the M.Phil while planning to launch Ph.D program soon. The combination of advanced professional (Pharm.D.) and research (M.Phil/Ph.D.) education in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences prepares outstanding students for careers in academics  and pharmaceutical research.  

Program Objectives:

The main objectives of this program is to cater for graduates who wish to have better career prospects, to enhance their knowledge in new spheres of Pharmacy and also to acquire new skills and techniques. Students will be educated to a level that will enable them to perform efficiently in any area of Pharmacy. We are committed for strengthening our research activities at the M.Phil., and Ph.D. level in the subject areas of pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical chemistry and Pharmacognosy. This program will enable the University teachers, students and researchers (M.Phil. and Ph.D. Scholars) to carry out research in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. This program will provide research and development opportunities not only to University of Malakand but will also involve industries and other public/private sector organizations.
Program Outcomes:

Over all outcomes of Ph.D./M.Phil. Programs at Department of Pharmacy will be:

a. To work for the advancement of research and developments of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Pakistan.
b. This program will provide attraction to qualified and skilled personnel’s for initiation quality projects in Malakand division.

  1. To produce quality manpower in science and technology locally rather to send them abroad on high cost. This will also ensure their services locally and minimize leaching of trained and skilled personals from Pakistan.
  2. Malakand division has rich source of medicinal plants which need to exploit locally through utilizing the Pharmacy Department labs.
  3. To produce professionally trained manpower, capable of playing a vital role in the socio economic development of the region and the country at large.
