Software engineering is the discipline that deals with the creation and management of software applications. For this, a practical and technically sound environment is mandatory. The chairman and faculty at the department of Software engineering are pleased to welcome the students and to guide them unfold the techniques, skills and tools for developing modern large-scale software systems. The department has been accredited under the category X of NCEAC (National Computing Education Accreditation Council), a body of Higher Education Commission (HEC). Henceforth, the department offers a precise and calculated curriculum with a mix of courses from computer science, general sciences, mathematics and humanities to provide a firm basis to the students so that they contribute not only to the Software Industry of the Pakistan, but also to the international market.

The mission statement of Department of Software Engineering is to prepare graduates for the present and future demands and challenges of the Software industry and to produce engineers having state-of-the-art skills in the field of Software Engineering to serve the nation.
The objectives of the program of BS-Software Engineering are listed as follows:
- To assist students attain software engineering positions in a chosen field.
- To provide students with a solid foundation that will allow them to adapt effectively in dynamic and competitive environments.
- To educate the students so that after graduation they are able to make progress in their careers, adjust to new situations and learn problem solving through the use of general purpose engineering skills and core technical disciplines, analytical procedures, and design practices of the Software Engineering profession.
- To prepare students by giving them research ideas to pursue their education at Master and Ph.D. levels with guidance and vision of the future.
