In the present day, quality education is the ultimate source which leads towards the realization of the dreams of achieving a respectable position in the committee of nations. University of Malakand also believes in providing quality education to its younger generation to enable them to play their role in the national and international arena as creative, reflective, honest, responsible and competent professionals.
To achieve this goal, the institute of Education and Research (IER),University of Malakand, strives to produce value laden professional teaching workforce who are abreast of latest knowledge of educational development, theories of teaching and learning and high order research skills. It also aims at inculcating positive learning attitudes, democratic behavior and making them life-long learners by enabling them to cope. The graduates produced are rendering services in various educational institutions of the country both in the public and private sector with great professional fervor, enthusiasm and dedication and the institute is proud of their excellent contributions to the society.
The institute does not believe only in transferring theoretical knowledge about education rather it provides such an environment where theory is put to practice making prospective teachers and administrators self-directed learners which is one of the goals of true education. 
The institute offers graduate and post graduate courses such as B.Ed, M.Ed (one year) and MA Education (Two years programme). The courses are aimed at providing well trained teachers and educational managers to both national and international institutions in the public and private sectors.
To achieve the mentioned objectives, well furnished library, well equipped class rooms, and well qualified faculty including foreign qualified teachers are available for guiding and enlightening the aspiring teachers. Moreover, field trips to model schools and colleges are arranged from to time and renowned researchers and scholars in the field are also invited as guest speakers to inspire the students.
